As NGOs and CBOs across the Philippines prepare themselves to respond once again to the needs of displaced people, JRS Asia Pacific would like to express our solidarity with all those impacted by Typhoon Glenda
The thoughts and prayers of JRS Asia Pacific are with our friends and partner organisations in the Philippines as they weather Typhoon Rammasun, known locally as Glenda.  According to Bloomberg coverage of local government announcements more than 338,000 people have already been displaced by the storm.  Until recently, the Philippines was on the road to recovery after Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda.  Since November 2013, JRS Asia Pacific and JRS Indonesia have been assisting with those recovery efforts by sending programme staff on secondment to Manila and the Dinagat Islands to support a local Community Based Organisation - Simbanhang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB) in their work with people who were forced from their homes by that emergency.  As NGOs and CBOs across the Philippines prepare themselves to respond once again to the needs of displaced people, JRS Asia Pacific would like to express our solidarity with all those impacted by Typhoon Glenda.  For now, to all in the affected areas, please be on alert and stay safe.  We wish you all the best.
